Franchise Leader, Decarbonization Private Equity
As Power Sustainable continues to expand and diversify their suite of investment products, the firm’s Chief Investment Officer identified that a private equity strategy focused on industrial decarbonization would be complementary to their existing strategies. Kicking off a build from scratch, this position would become the founder, architect, and leader of this new Decarbonization fund.
The Appointments
The One Search team utilized resources in New York and London to provide extensive market mapping and outreach across North America and Europe. The coverage of this mapping included venture capital, growth equity, private equity, infrastructure funds, and corporate investors in the energy transition and industrial infrastructure industries. After interviewing a broad slate of candidates to explore different approaches to Decarbonization investing, Power Sustainable ultimately focused their interest on private equity buyouts.
In January 2024, Power Sustainable appointed Karine Khatcherian-Pisant and Martin Aares as the Managing Partners & Co-Heads of Decarbonization Private Equity. Their backgrounds as the Co-Heads of Private Equity at Closed Loop Partners suits the Power Sustainable ambitions as their experience investing in industrials, technology, and services businesses via a climate-oriented thematic is very differentiated from most of the energy transition investment market.
